1. Simple elegance or refinement of movement.
2. (in Christian belief) the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
I’ve not always been the most graceful person (or even gracious for that matter). I turned 30 this year and I realized that I’ve never really done anything for me. I’m always in a hurry, high strung, talks fast, thinks fast and never stops to enjoy the moment in anything I do. I’m always looking for what’s next, or focused on someone else, and never paying attention to what I enjoy. After doing things this way for, well, 30 years, God stopped me in my tracks. Out of nowhere, the word “grace” kept coming up over and over again, to the point where it became comical to me. I’m not sure I could ever really explain it to anyone, but I believe what God showed me was something special just between us. However, what has come of it is meant to be shared with everyone.
I am on a journey to find God’s grace in my life. He’s been gracious to me in so many areas, and I never stopped to recognize it. On this journey to a renewed my mind, my goal is to slow down, explore who I am and what I love; be more adventurous, build better relationships, and allow God to show me grace through his love, exposing me to the woman of God he wants me to be. Romans 12:2 in the New Living Translation says “…let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think…”
My prayer is that as I share my journal to Finding Grace, it will inspire you to take time to for yourself and see God's grace, his unmerited favor, in your life. Take a step back, breath deep, and know that God cares and wants to transform you. Finding Grace is not about looking back and telling you how I've arrived, because I have a long way to go; rather, taking you on this journey with me and hopefully inspiring you to become a better you. I’m learning that you don’t have to be the same person you’ve always been and continue to have the same experiences. Sometimes change is good. We could all use a little change.
Thank you for joining me in Finding Grace.
Enjoy the journey,
