About twelve weeks ago God placed on my heart to start a hashtag on Social Media called #FindingGraceFriday. Every week on Friday I do a brief video expressing how I've found God's grace that week. Reflecting on God's unmerited favor in my life gives me a greater appreciation for the things seen and unseen that he does in my life.
This week I've had a heavy heart. As I sat on my couch Wednesday evening and watched CNN live during the riots in Charlotte, NC, it was very devastating to see hurt people hurting other people. But God reminded me that he never ceases to be God. He is still in heaven and he's still in control.
Thursday morning I read the book of Zephaniah in the Bible. Chapter three describes Jerusalem's rebellion but ALSO their redemption. God forgives and he redeems. We rebel and he calls us back to repentance.
I want to encourage everyone to continue to pray for this nation and this world. But have peace that God will NEVER stop being "The Great I AM". He is God all by himself and we have to remember there is nothing new under the sun. God is not surprised by what is happening. And during such a time we must draw closer to him than ever before.
Check out my page on Twitter & Instagram to keep up with #FindingGraceFriday. I would love for each of you to participate in a short video or post on your page. Tag me @_findinggrace_ and use the hashtag #FindingGraceFriday. This is an opportunity to reflect each Friday on God's grace in your life.
Thank you for joining me in my journal to Finding Grace...
Enjoy the journey
